I have had to go back to one of my sites twice now, 2 of the 9 receivers change channels on their own.
When I get there and pull up the guide it shows the correct channel but what is showing is not what the channel guide say?
I never had this issue at any other site. The system is SL5K4NR0-02 lnb to a SWM-16 to 2 SWM 8way spilliters to 10 D12/700 receivers with no B-Band converters.
I double checked the alignment and it is tight/right.
Anybody know what way to head?
Mike

there was a problem like this reported a few years ago with the D12 and certain SWM LNBs but I have not seen it reported recently, or at all with the SWM16. I found this very old post discussing the problem http://www.dbstalk.com/topic/163522-d12-500-wrong-channels/?hl=d12 wrong channel
If you move a "faulty" D12 to a different location does the problem move with the receiver?
Are the empty ports on the splitters correctly terminated?
Are the "faulty" receivers on the same splitter and what's the distance from the splitter to the receivers?

edit: also this post http://www.dbstalk.com/topic/154106...-match-channel-selected/?hl=d12+wrong+channel

I'm not sure if they are on the same splitter or not I will check, the open ports are terminated proper and I have not tried switch ports on rec.
I will try that when I return, it sounds like you think a splitter could be doing this?
I was wondering if the LNb does not work with the
Swm 16, the LNb does not say swm on it like some
Of the other.
I can take a splitter and another swm16 if that might
Be the problem.

The LNB is a non-SWM LNB and you connect it to the SWM16 with four cables. If you mean the splitter is non-SWM, you really should use the green label SWM splitter (SWS-8) although I doubt it is anything to do with this problem. And if you can change out the SWM16, I would do that anyway just in case. I assume you are using the correct power inserter with the SWM16 (has to be the 29v PI)?

Sounds like an LNB or SWM16 issue. I'd start at the LNB

It's been installed for quite awhile but I think the power supply is correct, I will have to check photos when I get back to the office.
The splitters are swm so I will take a multi switch, power supply and Lnb back when I return.
The problem is intermittent so it's deciding what to try
1st, and of course this site is a couple of hours away

I'm still saying LNB or switch, more towards the LNB though

Have you tried powering down the receivers, switch (power inserter pulled from wall), and any other equipment for a little bit (5 min or so) then try again, perhaps the switch/lnb just needs to be power cycled? I'd at least try it before starting to tear the setup apart.

Not sure if this has anything to do with the issue but aren't all D12 receivers supposed to have BSF's installed when connected to a SWiM system? Do you have them installed currently?

INSP is back on DIRECTV!

Is Directv missing any channels Dish has?
