Hi all, well I finally got around to installing the Ku dish motor. The main reason I
kept putting it off was the mast that I wanted to use was not plumb - it was bent
to the south. Not wanting to replace the mast at least until things cool off.
I came up with the idea of using a spacer to aline the motor mount and leave the
mast bent. I looked around and found a section of the next size bigger pipe and cut a
section out of it. It made the perfect little spacer and after I installed it the
motor mount was almost perfect plumb. It works great and it is setup for:
58,74,79,83,89,91,99,101,103 West with solid quality on all. Decided to run a
separate coax cable for the motor and have it hooked up to my Mercury II. I
like the way the Mercury blind scans and handles any new channels it finds and
it will be dedicated to news hunting.
So if you have a mast that is out of plumb check out the spacer - it would work
great for any mast that is out to the north or south but not east or west.
