Got a great system today via Feecycle.

Dang I wish I'd have found this setup a few months ago! I picked up tonight:

8' Winegard Dish / Polar mount. Dish is nearly perfect.
about 6' of the pole it 'was' mounted on.
36" (I think) Von Wise Actuator
LNB / feedhorn with polarotor (C-band only, I think - I'll know better when I take off the feedhorn cover)
Winegard Feedhorn cover
HTS Traker Premier System 70 w/ XPRT UHF remote. Includes VC module.

If the actuator works, this is pretty much a turn-key Analog C band system, just add ribbon cable!

I guess the pole rusted through and the dish simply fell over. They had digital cable installed after this happened and just wanted rid of the yard ornament. In the manual for the HTS receiver the receipt from his install was included. He paid $2950 (installed) in '95 for the system .

This new dish is exacly the same as my five footer, just scaled up to 8' and the pole mount looks a bit more C-band (beefy).

I'm pretty happy with the find. I'm hoping that the actutor works or is repairable. I'll take it apart and see if I can free it up.

I got a big grin when I saw the feedhorn cover. I was looking for one and to get a Winegard one at that was just gravy.

Now to see if I can sub with my 5' dish - hehe. Now I've got the 8' one to fall back on if I'm dead set on 4DTV.

On a side note. I was looking on the NPS offerings and I could have sworn there was a bunch more HD available on 4DTV.

There's PBS on T5-603 and WealthTV on G9.
The Cinemax HD feeds might be available too.

No max HD is megapipe, there are a few others that may come along soon if NPS and SRL get a contract.

You will also need a HDD 200 for the HD feeds, yes the HD is limited but it looks great, and the SD is great also

Oh and if Encore HD comes back I am pretty sure we will get it.

I took the feedhorn apart and its a Chaparral with the polarotor and a CalAmp 17° C-Band LNB.

Good stuff.

I'm looking forward to firing up the HTS and see if my five footer will get a good enough signal to let me sub to any channels. If not, I've got this 8' dish to fall back on now .

Nice find Shawn, I have been looking for a deal like that. You can't beat free stuff! I want to set up a 4dtv C band system. So know of anybody in the Phoenix area that want's to get rid of a free 8ft dish?

On the same day that the 8' dish was listed on Freecycle, a 12ft dish was offered as well. I'll PM you the contact info in case it is still available and would work out for you.

I'll let you know if I decide to part with this one.
