The temptation to get into FTA is too great, plus it'll be cool listening to all the muzak channels. If it dont work through the window I'll mount it outside the window. If he thinks window AC's are OK (I got several) than his grounds for opposing a dish on the outside are small.
The woman downstairs just put her Direct TV up anyway and so far she hasn't been bothered. I know they are supposed to get written permission from the LL but somehow she got around it.
If he wants a fight he will get one.
Meanwhile I will need a LNB and a dish. And a cable. What's the best place to get those? And what kind of LNB will I need?

A 36" dish for $50 shipped.. and they also have an lnbf for only $15. Grab some RG6 cable from wal-mart for 10 bucks, and you'll be set.

I'm looking for a pizza dish, the ones that I see with Dish network. I think they are 18'' across.

I think he wanted to budget the whole job fo $100.
Any DishPro or Legacy LNB/dish from either provider should get ya by.
Heck, we can even get him goin' on a DirecTV Phase III dish, if he finds it.

Usually, those 18-20" dishes can be found around if you just look.
I got one from a new neighbor who moved into a Dish house, and wanted to put up DirecTV.
I got one from the back of a pickup truck on the way to the dump.
- included a full Dish500, DP34 switch, wing dish for 148º, and hookup cables.

I don't think I've ever like muzak that much, buy hey, to each his own.

Check ebay, there are good deals on there. Check houses near you for dishes with no lnbs.

Hell, I got a 90cm for free (my first dish, didn't even have a receiver yet), so anything is possible.

Muzak has some unique programming that not even the internet,XM, or sirius can provide.

I've been looking around the neighborhood but haven't found any dishes yet, well, not ones being discarded. Plenty in use thouugh on roofs.
Maybe I need to go to a neighborhood with Fios.
Or I can buy them on eBay.
