I'm helping two ladies at work get HD set up at their newly built house. They are long time Dish customers with a single 3900 at their old house.

She called to have them come install a dish at her new house and to get a 622 for $199 and switch to DVRAdvantage 250, but they said since she is a lease customer she'd have to pay $549 for the 622 and pay $6 a month lease fee.

The final quote for her bill would be:
71.99 for Top250 with locals
20.00 HD pack
6.00 lease fee

I pay:
49.99 for Top200 with locals
30.00 for HD with one premium
6.00 Lease fee

Is she getting the straight deal? How can she get off the lease plan and onto something more reasonable like mine?

They should be eligible for a Dish'n It up equipment upgrade. The DVR Advantage program is available to existing customers. This is from the E* website:

Existing Customer: You must elect an 18-month commitment or Credit Card AutoPay/recurring EFT payments with online billing as well as subscribe to America’s Top 200 plus local channels and have a qualifying DVR to participate. You must be eligible to receive local channels. Discounted price will continue to apply after 18-month commitment or participation in AutoPay unless customer downgrades from qualifying programming (America’s Top 200 and local channels), opts out of Credit Card AutoPay or removes qualifying DVR receiver from account. Then-current prices will apply for all programming and equipment fees. You must contact DISH Network to request paper billing. Additional incremental services will be billed separately.

Have the lady who isnt on the account start a new one and get a 622 and a 311, best way to go, and click on the dishstore link at the top of each page here and talk to Claude, he can get you set up better than Dish can.
