I have to agree with that.
If the idea with Voom is to be high quality delivery system for the
person that cares about signal quality (and by inference, the content),
then the whole "Voom Guy" idea just completely subverts that message.
It gives the impression of disrespect for the content and the viewer -
just like someone starting up a conversation in the middle of a movie
or a show. It says "hey, we know you don't take this stuff seriously,
so here's a little cute head to give you a message right in the middle
of your program." I realize lots of people are coming on Voom to give
it a try, but you are going to be a service for the discerning viewer,
you need to assume that the viewers have sense enough to explore the
guide and figure out what Voom is about. Otherwise, you'll have to be
"TV for people who don't mind cartoon characters coming on during their
programs". Maybe the Voom guy could get a pink slip along with the
Marketing VP.
