Greetings all,
It seems that Globecast World TV is doing some sort of Free Preview of most of their premium programming. I have a Fortec Star Mercury II DVB-S FTA receiver. I am getting EPG data for the (2) RTR Russian channels.
- RTR Sport - 11898/V/22000 (G-25)
- RTR Planeta - 11898/V/22000 (G-25)
When I first power up the Fortec Mercury II receiver, there is no program guide (EPG) data for the either of those 2 channels.
Now if I tune to any channel on the 12053 transponder, it fills in EPG data for the next (2) hours in-advance. But if I tune into the 12152 transponder, I get EPG data for the next couple of days in-advance.
These are the only (2) transponders that I have tried this wirth.
My questions follow:
- How long is the FREE PREVIEW of Premium channels from Globecast?
- Why isn't the EPG data for these (2) russian channels available on the
the 11898 transponder? 11898 is the home of these 2 channels.
- Why does 12053 only fill-in for the next 2 hours in-advance, and not
for the next couple of days?
- Is this a TEST being done for future EPG data on all globecast channels
on all transponders?
- Is the EPG data being created locally, or is it direct from the Russian
broadcasting studios across the pond?
Just curious as to what is going on here. EPG data does NOT appear
for any channel located on the 12053 or 12152 transponders. Only
for the (2) russian channels on 11898. Kinda weird that the EPG data
would be transmitted on a total seperate transponder from the channel
itself. That's why I suspect testing.....
Who knows, perhaps that's why we are getting this FREE PREVIEW of
most of the PREMIUM channels.
