I'M RELATIVELY NEW TO FTA, I SET UP A DISH IN THE WINTER POINTING TO GALAXY 18 AT A REMOTE GETAWAY. I HAD ALL THE CHANNELS COMING IN THAT I EXPECTED, ONLY TO FIND ON MY LAST TRIP THAT THE SIGNAL WAS GONE. THERE WAS SOME BAD WEATHER JUST BEFORE THE LAST TRIP. SOMEHOW THE DISH WAS MOVED. (?) I WAS ABLE TO GET ON THE SATELLITE AGAIN, BUT ALL I WAS ABLE TO FIND WAS A COUPLE OF UNIVERSITY CHANNELS, NONE OF THE NETWORKS. I KNOW THE TRANSPONDERS NUMBERS THAT I WROTE DOWN FOR LOCATING THE SATELITE THE LAST TIME WERE DEAD, AND NOW I DON'T SEE THEM IN "THE LIST". WITH ALL THAT SAID, I'M JUST WANTING TO VERIFY THE SATELLITE IS BROADCASTING THE STATIONS THEY'VE BEEN SENDING OUT THE LAST FEW MONTHS. I'M GOING BACK THIS WEEKEND AND AM GOING TO TRY TO TWEAK IT BACK IN. ANY INFORMATION OF CHANGES WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

THANKS,

please turn off caps lock....makes it sound like you shouting ;)

but yes everything on G18 is still there except for the "Peace TV" mux of channels. The Equity channels are still there as is KTWO 2 ABC

i get two channels, (university channels?). i got frustrated this weekend and moved it to g19, i got a lot more channels but almost none of the english channels. i put my brothers receiver on (telesat?) and was occassionaly able to get more english channels, but the signal is weak.

i'm using a winegard 30" offset dish, should this be adequate? in january i was receiving all that i was suppose to on g18. (clear line of sight to the dish). with the one receiver picking up better than the other i'm wondering if there is some kind of degredation going on with my receiver (fortec dynamic), however it is picking up the strongest signals.

yes the 30" dish should fine. I use one in MN with no issues

If you got the research channel & UWTV then you were on G18. DId you try any other transponder? I know there are some HOT ones outside of the Equity channels

i locked in on the transponder with the research channel and uwtv, and then did a power scan. didn't really have any other channels show up. There were some bad storms in the area before this went out, is it possible that the lnb was damaged and could pick up some transponders and not others? I know i've been able to pickup both vertical and horizontal signals on G19, but not get all transponders.
