Is there anything I can spray on or coat the dish with that will let me maintain the signal when it rains? We have rain storms almost every night and I lose the satellite signal for the entire length of the storm, and sometimes longer. This evening it went out at 9pm and now it is past 11 pm and I still don't have it back.

it shouldnt go out that long when it rains unless you have a monsoon or something ;)

Sounds like the dish may not be aligned properly. Check some signal strengths and report back

Do you know what kind of dish setup you have? If not, press the system info button on remote. It will say like "Dish500" or "Dish 1000.2" or something like that

I finally got my signal back. I found the setup type, 500. But I am not sure how to check my signal strength.

yeesh thats low... should be around 60 or higher on most transponders on 110 & 119
Some will read 0 as those are used for local channels and you may not be near those markets

Why dont you do this. Post a few readings from the following transponders. To check its menu 6-1-1 and then you can change the info on the screen. Or if you have issues, select the channel I posted after the Transponder then do menu 6-1-1
All are on satellite 119
transponder 11 (ESPN 140)
transponder 6 (Food Network 110)
transponder 17 (Dish Channel 101)
transponder 14 (Ion 216)

Thanks, I'll do that first thing in the morning. Right now I need to lay these old bones on the mattress. 'Night.
