Has anyone ever tried to put a DISH 500 LNB on a DISH 1000 reflector? It seems like the larger size might help get a better signal but I don't know if the LNB would be properly positioned for optimum reception.

It already takes the same LNB as a dish 500.

I think it's a 1000.2. It originally had an LNB for 110, 119 and 129.

Was the LNB one complete unit...or two units? If the latter, then you already have a D500 LNB on it.

It was a single unit - I don't have the LNB any more but I do have a 500 that I'm planning to relocate due to LOS issues. It will be a temporary solution until I get the new security cards. I've already got a 1000.4 to replace everything for the long term.

There is also a Dish 1000.2 which has the three eyes all built in together as one unit. It will not adapt with the Dish 500 eyes like the legacy Dish 1000 would.

I believe that this is the dish that I have since the LNB was a single unit. Thanks for all the information guys.
