I'm on the West Coast and am watching the game on my local HD Fox channel. The channel 399 feed seems to be exactly the same. Therefore, I'm wondering what or why this feed exists? Is it for West Coasties who don't have their local Fox channel in HD? If so, why doesn't DTV also broadcast the HD feeds from ABC, CBS and NBC in HD?
Since we KNOW they're not going to do that as it would "blow up" their local channel revenue, why are they allow Fox HD to be shown in this manner?

DirecTV seems to be doing this a lot lately. Usually done when the local station is owned by the network, thus no real revenue loss.
They usually turn on one feed during a sporting event to allow others who cannot see that particular game to be able to see it. Others are getting the Cubs and Cards and now they have the choice to see this game as well.
If you notice, DirecTV is the biggest sponsor of the game. Probably a deal worked out to allow a Conus feed?
At least this channel isn't jittering like the Orlando Feed is. The Orlando Feed is all messed up.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but do we pay 5 bucks or so for local feeds? I'm relatively new for my current subscription, but I'm pretty sure the last time I had DTV service, there was a $5 charge for locals. If we DO pay for local service, then DTV is giving something for free with this broadcast. Fine with me either way.
DirecTV includes the cost of local channels in their prices they advertise for their package. If you don't get locals then DirecTV will credit your account the $5 charge.

They increased the price of the packages and included the locals in your market, where available, so in a sence, yes your paying for it.
Thanks for the info, my local Fox is in SD because they have a weather warning on the screen and they cannot do the warning and stay in HD at the same time yet.
