Claude is right about one thing- State AG's do have a lot of pull. I had to enlist the help of the Kansas AG one time. I had Googled my name and discovered that some reputation website had me listed as incarcerated in the Johnson County Jail. Well, I've never been arrested much less incarcerated. I contacted the website and they said "It's based on court records and it's accurate." Uh- no. They refused to budge, so I contacted the State AG and they stomped them down. Got my information removed from their website within 2 weeks.
It turns out what happened was, I had received a traffic ticket in Johnson County a number of years back. When the incarceration website was crawling through court records, it incorrectly misconstrued my ticket as incarceration, when in reality it was just a speeding ticket.
