Hi folks,
I've been searching and do not see anyone with the problem I've been having for about 3-4 months now, and it is getting very frustrating.
One station (of course the bulk of NY Giants games are on it)...do you remember 'Max Headroom'? That is what my sound is like on this station, and of course the video freezes and/or goes out completely. This is only in HD, but that leads me to my second question. I've been trying to put the option to watch locals in standard def, but cannot seem to figure it out. I was able to see my locals on the guide in hd and sd before a software download, and I could switch to sd and the problem was not there.
so question one: why is this one channel so bad? D* claims it is Fox (like I would be the only one complaining) Here's what has been done so far, by 3 or 4 different techs:
-new cable to the dish (of course they didn't bury it so it's lying accross my lawn)
-new switch outside
-new LNB (which I went from 3 LNB to 1) and they left the old one laying on my lawn
-new HD STB
-new ?filters?, not sure what these are called but they attach to the box on both tuners
-new software download (which took about 10 tries to get it to successfully d'load)
-of course multiple resets
None of these have fixed the problem.
Only 3 transponders come up less than 79 on sat 101a - 4, 12, 20, (these all come up 0, and all the techs have said that's not the issue)
question two: how do I get my guide to show me the option of SD for my locals? I can see other channels sd options but not the locals. I have selected the option in setup to 'show SD Duplicates'.
I hope I gave enough info. It's Saturday local time 9:23 AM, and have until 1:00 PM Sunday to be able to watch the first G game all year without the problem, but not holding out too much hope for a 'miracle'. Which is what it seems it will take at this point.
