fortec star mercury not working

hey guys , i purchased the fortec star mercury when it was linked thru this website for sale. anyways , i cant seem to get any chanels when i scan. first i tried scanning using my coolsat 3618 receiver and i get channels but when i switch it to the Mercury i dont get any. could the box be bad? or am i doing something wrong? im using a 8 ft cband antenna pointed at 45 pas1r.

Are you setting the info right for a c-band satellite?? Local osc-5150 for c-band I believe. Any switches involved that might have a bad port?

yeah im setting the lo to 5150. and still nothing. but as soon as i plug in the coolsat i get channels.

well it just finished , and no channels found.

Make sure you have the cable in the back plugged in to Digital LNB IN

Also, LNBF type should be 5150

its plugged in the right port and i still get nothing. im thinking this box is bad.

Just one thing you might try? Hook up the Mercury thru the coolsat's loop out and then scan. I have an ultra that did the same thing. This way you know the lnb has power and the Mercury should find the same things as is being viewed on the coolsat at that time.
