Forgetful remote...

so every day I turn on my TV and find my STB in a state of inactivity. I cannot wake it with the remote at all.


I press the power button on the STB and it comes up but the remote will not work.


I hold the system info button and then re-sync the remote by pressing the sat button while in this mode.

I can then browse for hours until it does it again. It is getting old. Any suggestions?

I have actually replaced a 922 before for not saving the remote information. The new one worked fine. As for what the actual problem is, not sure. First thing I would do is try and get another remote from tech support

Did you try the System Wizard?

Sorry to read that. I noticed that none of our remotes were recognized via the System Wizard just the other day. I wish your solution would have been that simple.

It happens every time the 922 reboots for an update.

Just an update, we finally figured out what was causing the issue (as strange as it sounds) The HDMI cable they used had a slight bend in the connector. We had already had a replacement receiver and were continuing to have the same problem. They sent out a tech that spent almost 2 hours there looking at stuff, adding ground isolators...Etc. He ended up calling his boss, who found the bent connector and replaced it. After that the remote no longer lost sync and the box stopped randomly locking up.

So if you ever run into any weird issues make sure to check that connector.
