so what's the point of it? i'm assuming the new D10 is used by what 5-10% of current D* subscribers? What if, the receivers were Wink capable? Doesn't this mean that they were once capable for such content? That's crap if it isn't.

only the D10 will get it. no other currently installed box will get it, regardless of whether it was a wink, ultimate Tv, tivo, only the d10s are getting it right now, and only future boxes will get it. no other current box will ever have it.

I have 2 D10s. So I guess I'll be OK. On the downside the D10s are weak receivers. I prefer the RCA by far. I do have a Tivo so I guess I'm out there.

I would think they would want to support customers who don't have D10's yet. You know, they number in the millions.

Its not possible. Only the D10s have the required software. Tivos theoretically could be upgraded by software, but they might also require a special chipset and also the Tivo software would have to be totally rewritten, which probably costs way more than it would be worth.

So the R10 is another that isn't getting these new interactive features?

I just got a R10, will be sad I cant get the mix, it looks great! well from what I have seen of it, as I cant scroll through the pictures :-(

Sounds like what Dish Network already has only a little better being that weather maps will also be included. Dish Network could add that if they really wanted to.

You should be able to get the MIX channels. NOT the interactive features however. I'm currently getting all of the MIX channels as they lauched last Tuesday on 102, 104 and 111 I think. You can change the sound to the channel you want by switching the way you would switch to a different sound on other channels.

When the interactive on the D10 is launched you will be able to directly tune to these channels with the click of a button. On other receivers you like my RCA 486's you will have to put in the channel numbers manually.

I am out of luck also with local weather etc... I've been with DirecTV 9 years now and might switch to DISH. I bought 3 RCA 486's at just under $150.00 each in July of 2003 just to get WINK interactive. Six months later WINK is gone and I'm out $450.00. Now I have to get new receivers again, what a crock of crap.

I'm not buying new receivers to have them upgrade again in a year. I'm going to call them when the new services launch and if they don't replace all of my receivers I'm outta here to DISH.

:(
