It has been 24 hours since I started to use the 922. So far I like it alot. My main complaint is the touch pad remotes. I find it so much easier to use a regular Dish IR remote with the box. I have been trying to get it to work with my sling catcher but so far no luck. HD streaming to a PC is great. Previously I had a Sling solo attached to my 622 but that does not Sling HD.

Can someone tell me how to switch from single PIP to Duo mode? When I push the mode button on front of the receiver it says that feature is not available.

Also, does it support using external hard drives yet? I would really love to move content from my 622 to the 922. Thanks again,

Mike

When the 922 ships it will not come with the touchpad remotes, it will use standard looking remotes.

It wont work with your Slingcatcher as its using the new Flash streaming technology.

I am at work now, but you use to be able to go to Menu, Settings Duo Mode and shut off Duo mode there.

It does not support EHD's yet, but they are trying to get it in before the official release. :)

Right now mine's on the dealer's account, but after we have the official release I'll move it to my account.

And when the EHD happens it's moving to the main room, they've made a lot of progress.

Yup I told someone high up at DISH the other day that when the EHD support was added this is beomcing my main receiver.

It has come a long... long way.

Duo Mode

When I go into settings I do not have a Duo icon. I do have an icon that says shared view. In that setting the only option is to enable or disable but either way it does not put the receiver into Duo mode.

Also, can I use a regular Dish TV2 UHF Pro remote with the 922? Thanks Again

I am not home so I can't check mine.

No. Only an IR or one of the new remotes. The UHF on the 922 is a much higher frequency (2GHZ) and the old UHF remotes are I believe 900 Mhz.

Excactly what is the EHD-what can it allow you to do

Also is the web browser back on, and if it is will it have capabilites to access things like MLB online and such? if so that really opens this reciever for some nice possibilities!!

EHD is External Hard Drive. (Ie let you copy a program from your receiver to a USB hard drive. for storage.)

No web browser yet. I am told it will be back, but the question is when.

Does anyone know how I can get a 33.0 remote? They are not in stock on the Dish website although they show it as compatible with my 922.

Also, if anyone can walk me through hiow to get Duo mode working I would be grateful.

I no longer have the ability to select duo mode on our 922.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to start using this as my main DVR now but we need the Duo feature for our main DVR. I hope they turn it back on soon. I also hope 32.0 remotes will become available soon. When we do have Duo mode I would much rather a traditional remote for TV2 than the touch pad.

Retailers who have been helping test out the 922 were shipped out new 32.0 remotes this week and were advised to stop using the touchpad remotes when demoing the unit to customers.

It didn't add anything to the 922 experience, in fact I told them I thought it took away from the 922 experence, and surprsingly they agreed with me.

The duo mode is gone. The 922 will be for one TV with TV2 reserved for Slinging content. The new Sling Receiver 300 should give us the ability to watch TV2 in HD when hooked up to a HDTV. It looks like this is what replaces the Sling Catcher. The Sling 300 was just announced recently and should be available for purchase soon.

I know this might not be clear yet because pricing has not been released, but will it be considered a duo reciever, I have seen there might be a higer fee for this reciever

I'm not certain about dual, but it will carry a $10.00 DVR fee.
