Last year I lucked out and found a local place that would sell me a 7 foot length of 2.5" galvanized pipe (2.875" outside diameter). They happened to have that length kicking around.

I now need another pole so I went back to the same place. They will now only sell me a full 21 foot length. Not very practical. I'm kinda stumped where to find something like this - I know Home Depot only has up to 2". I'm mounting a 1.2M dish so I'd rather have the 2.5" pipe.

Any ideas?

I think Lowes sells the larger ones still in the short lengths. That's where I bought mine.

Is there an irrigation systems installation company in your area? I found some good HEAVY pump pipe pieces near me (for another purpose, but would be great for a mounting pole).

A local fence company would have one.

But, the place you went to before, will cut that 21' piece for you
like 3 @ 7'
or 1 @ 11' and another @ 10'
or whatever lengths you can get out of 21'

Do you have an angle grinder? If so and they won't cut it, get a metal cutting disk and chop it up there yourself.
