After hours of trying to find 129W from my backyard with that six foot dish, I was on the cusp of giving up and calling the pros.
Then I went back to that free software "Stellarium" and saw that at 6:09 PM, the Sun would be 90 degrees East of the satellite. I looked across the front edge of the dish and turned it until the Sun halfway visible over the edge.
5 minutes of elevation hunting later and there was 129W - no compass, no GPS or any other clues.
I now have a 129W only install, and it DOES get the guide for all the channels on 129W.
What would be a CONUS HD channel I can look for to verify I am getting "six feet" worth of HDTV here in Alaska?
Also what signal strength on a 211k should I see for 129W from Alaska?
