While talking to second level tech Thursday, I got a plausible explainable to my long standing question, why can't I see all my content on the transfer to EHD screen.
They did it to protect me from myself.
With the original Hoppers resources, CPU and RAM, if I were to select all 900 shows to transfer at one time, it would overwhelm the Hopper. Therefore, they only show me a small bite at a time. They ass u me I will transfer all of what I can see, then I can take a second bite.
Now I understand the logic. Unfortunately it does not solve my problem of how to transfer the programs in the second or third bite, without first transferring the shows I don't care to archive, like the news, which I do record so I can skip the commercials.
Does anyone know if the newer Hopper with Sling overcomes this limitation. Or does it simply use the same software for transfer as the original Hopper?

Yep, different "sorting" might be the only options. And offloading to EHDs quicker in the future, before the problem grows so big. Assuming, of course, that there's a lot you want to offload.

You could try deleting all of the programs you don't want to archive, then restore them after you have transferred to the hdd.

While there is a Deleted Recordings folder for the internal drive, there is none for the EHD. So any deletion from the EHD is permanent.

I meant delete them on the Hopper then restore them once everything is transferred to the ehd. :)
