Features you wish the hopper had

You got one of them new fangled IBMers? The ones with the little ball instead of typeface arms?;)
Naw, not that old and they didn't connect to the internet, heck, there wasn't an internet when they were in use.

This is just an old IBM keyboard that won't die. Hooked up to a very high speed home built PC using an SSD and a 26inch Sharp TV/monitor.

This message sent from my old IBM keyboard

It was humor, folks. Hence the smiley. ;)

But I did have friends that did solenoid adaptations to Selectrics to turn them into printers.

I wonder if the Hopper will ever have the feature where it goes back to the program you just finished watching instead of moving back to the top of the DVR list. I hate that I have to scroll back down to the program instead of it automatically returning to that same spot on the list.

It is even worse if you are watching the EHD. You have to go to DVR, select the EHD, then select the title, then scroll through the entire list of events or to your next event in that series (if you can remember which you were watching) and finally select your program again or the next in the series. If you were placed back on the EHD and in the series and at the last program, not necessarily starting it, that would be great. You may have just left to check the current or up-coming schedule, etc.

I'd like to see a Seek & Record feature that I could set a particular episode number to record. For example, "Modern Marvels" episode 88, even though there is no episode 88 appearing on the "list" of upcoming episodes. Just let the timer sit there until episode 88 is detected, then record it.

And along with that I'd like a guide that has episode numbers that are sequential and predictable.

The guide, generally, is by air date. Sometimes the networks don't show episodes in order. That actually happens all the time...

I spend every night falling asleep watching a recorded show, sometimes 2 or 3 times during the same show. I spend too much time fast forwarding to the last remembered scene to resume watching. I would like the option to be able to set a mark while watching a recording that the Hopper will save so that if I fall asleep but have left a mark I will have the option to resume at the mark similar to the resume feature when watching a show on a Hopper and Joey(s) . This feature can embellished further by having an optional programmable mark flashed on the screen by the Hopper at the programmed interval. A response to that mark would cancel the last programmed or self placed mark.

I have been wanting a bookmarking feature for a while now. Examples are 2-hour long morning news programs, wanting to bookmark certain stories within the entire recording, crucial plays and controversial calls in sporting events, etc.

If you are awake enough to set the "marker", wouldn't it make more sense to just hit "Stop" ?

Because that stops the program. The purpose of the mark is to hit it every few minutes so that I'm close to the last part of the program I was watching before drifting off. I tend to drop off almost instantaneously at night.

Whats interesting is that they apparently DID create a bookmark feature for the Hopper somewhere early on, but never released it to the public for whatever reason. I believe it was shown off during the same video as the one showing off the remote w/ the built-in keyboard, wasn't it?

"Now that Im using the bluetooth with headphones, I have one suggestion. When Im using the Roku 3 and plug the headphones in to the remote, it mutes sound coming out of the Roku to your system. With the bluetooth headphones on the Hopper you still have to manually cut your sound down. Not a big deal, but a cool feature."

Cross post because I forgot about this thread.
