I have two 622 and one 722 DVRs and have had recent Hard Drive failures in both 622s. These were older units and the failures were not unexpected. I received two replacement units under the extended waranty program and both units failed out of the box with errors and constant re-boots. A third unit is working normally after five days of use. I think that I have found a common denominator amoung the units that failed in that the failed units all have black Bold letters and Dish logo on the front panel. The newest replacement unit that is working ok has the older non-bold lettering. I think that Dish has received a batch of new 622s with a bad component that are failing soon after being put into service.

If anyone else is experiencing these reboot errors with units that have the Bold black lettering on the front panel could you post the details to this thread. This might help Dish solve this problem.

Thanks,
Barbara

My 622 has been a POS since the day it was installed. I would be ashamed to put my name on a product like this. Come May I am out of this contract and will be running MythTV. That will be an extra $65 in my pocket every month.
