External Drive 921?

The dish software won't recognize a second drive. If you replaced your existing 250GB with a 400GB although dishlinux would see the additional space the proprietory software is hard coded to organize it as a 250GB anyway. All you can do is clone an existing drive but you may void your warranty if you open the unit or definately if you break the drive sticker.

I take it that you can't expand the 942 either? I don't understand why DIsh would not let you expand the capacity. Pretty lame that my primitive Comcast 8300HD box allows for expansion but not dish.

I think Dish has plans to allow adding a USB drive to the 942 or it's MPEG-4 model, however I wouldn't be surprised to see Dish only support Dish brand add-on storage devices. We shall see. As far as the 921...I'm afraid the only drive it will ever see is that inevitable drive on the back of the garbage truck to your local landfill. Sorry!
