Sounds like they are trying to get the season over before the Fall season starts, sounds like a smart thing to do to me ...

Good couple of episodes tonight.
But won´t mention anything else, since they haven´t finished airing in other time zones.

It looks like to me that they are actually coming to some kind of confrontation /conclusion in the next few episodes. Maybe this show is going to end this year or is this going to be an anthology series and a new cast comes next summer to continue? Either that or one big ass cliff hanger is headed our way.
I remember that some weeks ago, CBS was mentioning the possibility of having this show return next summer.
It hasn´t done well in ratings, last week it matched its low and even so, it was number one on its time slot in both 18-49 and total viewers.
What I certainly wouldn´t like is that the last episode this summer leaves us with a cliff hanger and then we find out the series won´t be back.

Just got around to watching last weeks double;
What an ugly bicycle

I liked it, but I want to know if they are closing in on a eventual ending. I can't see this being dragged out for another summer. It looks like to me that it is either the alien baby or the rest of humanity that survives. I don't see the government ,which seems to be absent in this depicted future, standing by without at least firing a drone or two towards this threat.
I could see the kid escaping at the end of this season with Molly. Next season could be a battle of the kid trying to take over the world vs those trying to stop him.
By kid you mean the alien, not the android I guess.
Since this was originally prepared as a summer series, I guess they could edit to stretch for another season, by inserting another story before the original end or twisting the original plot.
Hard for me to guess at this point, but it´s my understanding that at this moment we have only one alien, but I see some clues indicating that this one wants to have more of his kind coming to earth, arranging the logistics for that and ensuing battles could provide material for several episodes.
Whatever happens, in the meantime, I´ll just sit back and enjoy

It reminds me of the Omen movies... Where there are a group protecting the kid at all costs and he will grow up to take over the world (i.e. the Antichrist).

Now that you mention that word, I remember that while watching last night, I couldn´t help to think about this new alien species or whatever it is, replacing the human race. mmm.
I had this hunch that these aliens were to kind of blend with humans to replace humans, thus the word extinction morphing in the show opening.
So these aliens would basically consider humans just as the means to their end of replacing them and conquering the planet or something like that.

After watching HB being lead about in that trance state all I could think was this woman won an academy award?? I vote Extant becomes extinct.. 
Sadly it´s true that some actors who have been very successful in movies, end up in tv shows.
I´m just thinking about Robin Williams and his unfortunate recent demise.
