Awful. Whole thing makes me sick. I. Know people look at us in Alabama and think how crazy we are about football.
But students rioting over a guy who could have stopped this whole damn thing!! Takes things to another level.
When Penn State even thinks about getting a new coach, how in the hell can they get anyone with Penn State ties??

Vegas ESPN was speculating Urban Meyer. Not much of a CFB guy though, but they seemed to make it sound possible.

I think the new coach won't have any ties to Penn State and Paterno.

I want to know why Mike McQueary is still on the staff.

If JoePa gets fired for hearing about the incident and not doing the right thing, why isn't the guy who witnessed it, and only told his boss, also being fired? Didn't he also have an obligation to call police?

I just heard on the radio that according to Pennsylvania law called whistle blowers that the university isn't aloud to fire him because he told on Sandusky.

OK, wait a second...I'm a little confused about something. McQueary is not going to be at the game for his own safety. Let's put aside for a second what his culpability may or may not be here, and ask why there is fear for his safety at Penn State?

Is it because he saw Sandusky and didn't do enough to stop him? Or is it because he saw Sandusky and DID say something? Help me out here...what exactly is the indignation amongst Penn State fans foward McQueary?

The key here is he should have done more but what did he do..nobody really knows or what was it he could have done beyond what he did. At the end of the day someone that witnessed another being hit by a car could have said "maybe I should have done more than I did" ....ok?? There is a wide open discussion here and it could go all sorts of directions...nobody really knows and its all speculation but as I've said many times already the Media is hitting him hard like a storm with him holding up the lightning rod cause of the icon he is and was.

Sure we do. JoePa is the face of that football team. In terms of rank and file within that locker room, JoePa is Numero Uno. By not reporting the incident directly to the POLICE, FEDS and/or CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES, by still allowing the creepy pedophile to roam the Penn State facilities, he is indeed associated like it or not with the rapist. He could of stopped it by reporting to the authorities and following up. He didn't. Therefore he's an enabler.

IMO its simply the trustees and others fear of mob mentality + being one of the few people left on campus with some potential blame keeping him from the game.

All that's mentioned on PSU's site is "multiple threats"...

Due to multiple threats made against Assistant Coach Mike McQueary, the University has decided it would be in the best interest of all for Assistant Coach McQueary not to be in attendance at Saturday's Nebraska game.

I still struggle with how that guy walked in on a kid getting raped, and didn't think to call the police?? He called Daddy and then a day later told the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loved coach? :shake-head-multiple-times:

Yes. I do not understand this at all.

I guess those family ties were close.....

Not only that, but what about the many times over the years that McQueary and Sandusky bumped into each other at the PSU facilities?? McQueary testified that he was seen by Sandusky and the boy. How do you live with yourself when you have to see the guy on a regular basis??

Yeah, not something you just easily put out of your mind. And agreed, no idea how you would live with yourself knowing that you took ONE STEP - to tell the coach - but NOTHING came of it; and not have called the cops??
