Enjoy 107w While It Lasts

Hi all,

It appears that CTV has left this satellite, ending my long running Canadian TV viewing. Signal was supposed to stay active until December, but that timeline changed.
I don’t believe I will be able to receive Canadian TV in its new location…too many trees blocking this satellite.
Oh well…it was great while it lasted.

That sucks, I have the same issue with trees on 119 sat. I can get the DVB-S channels, but not enough signal for the DVB-S2 ones.

Anybody that says it can't be done check this out.

I still can't get CTV or the Weather Network. I am getting VSE, though, so I know I'm parked on 119W. I tried re-peaking and re-scanning and still can't get them. They were present last night though.

I've got the various weather channels just fine, along with a few other things. Just NOT anything Dvb-S2, such as the CTV channels. My trees are VERY thick and tall maple trees. The only reason I get anything from this sat, is because there's a slight notch between two tree canopies that lets some signal in. IF I had a 10ft dish, or perhaps IF my dish was mounted higher than 7 feet, I then possibly could. Maybe even once all the leaves drop for Winter.

I am on 107 and all there is the VSE channel.

9000i Linkbox and and a 10 foot mesh dish,

My concern is that my Linkbox does not have 119 preprogrammed into its memory!

How can I add 119 without going online and comepletly redoing my Linkbox?

I have a clear view of 119W and I can't pick up anything other than VSE. So I don't believe others are picking up the weather network or ctv. VSE is 13 dB SNR.

So, you just think we are all lying? These are all with my 7.5' dish, and with that sat mostly blocked by a huge maple tree. Seems to me your dish has a problem.

I made a few adjustments to the elevation and declination of my 7½ ft Unimesh dish yesterday evening and tuned it up using the meter I just got from Titanium. After reading this thread I scanned 119W and this is what I got on that dish.

Hi all,

Not only do I have a “tree leaf issue” receiving 119w, its also located at the very end of travel for my actuator arm.
I have no more wiggle room for adjustments.

Your success or not may depend where in the footprint you are located. In Nova Scotia, where the signal is supposed to be 41 dBW, I have scanned in the APTN encrypted mux (4144 V 21000), Legislative Assembly Ontario (4116 V 3400), the Weather Network (4096 V 23800) and radio mux (4196 V 2800) using my 4-foot dish. I can't receive the CTV mux with this dish but only because it has a C/N of 9.4 dB which I will never reach with the small dish.

I have found VSE on 107.3W (3825 V 6500), but I've never seen it on 119W last time I scanned 119W. Are you sure you're on 119W? NU & NWT Legislative Assembly is on 119W embedded in the Weather Network mux (4096 V 23800).
