I decided to reconnect my Edision OS mio 4K to my dish after it has sat in the closet for a few years. I was able to get it operational when I first bought it in 2019 but went with another receiver at that time because of my slow learning curve. So today I decided to give it another shot and reconnected the receiver and it powers on fine - everything looks good EXCEPT it flashes on and off, on and off and won't stay still. Kinda like a new puppy? Anyway, does anyone have a suggestion? I tried turning it off and on using the remote and unplugged it several times but still it flashes on and off.
I carefully reboxed it when I put it away so it's just been sitting for 3-4 years. I wonder if it's toast?

Do you have another power supply of the same rating to try? Mine did that a while back - display on screen and on the receiver flashed on/off - then it finally went out all together. I figured it was toast but a new power supply I had here fixed the issue. ;)

I agree with this being most likely. Though IF by chance it doesn't fix it, also try disconnecting the coax going out to the dish and see if it stops flashing.

I never thought about a defective power supply. I don't have another one with the same specs so it'll have to wait. Thanks for the suggestions. This site is a great go-to place for answers on the hobby

I'm not sure what you're asking but I bought it originally to upgrade my BUD at my cabin. It was a nice receiver but I did not have internet access there to ask questions so I went with an Amiko instead.
I don't understand the purpose for an Edison. What is a BUD & Amiko? I will research more in Google.

What does this Edison device provide for you?

At the time it was released (has it been 5+ years ago now?) it was a top of the line satellite receiver for KU and C-band hobbyists. It can stream video across your network, load multiple Enigma (Linux) images, stream IPTV channels and more. It's still a solid receiver, but becoming more difficult to find and used units can be expensive.

Neither one. I purchased an Amiko and am using it. Also a good receiver

What is the rating on your power supply for your Amiko? I know it should be 12V but not sure of amperage though. You could try subbing it in to see if it corrects the issue with your Edision. If so, then you could be sure that's the problem and obtain another PS for your Edision.
