Echostar 15 at 61.5W - Post your signals!

Receiver:VIP 622

These are my after readings I lost my before ones before I got a chance to post. I think my after readings are higher in general. Except for on tp 2,10,22,27 which I still get in the 40's...guess i just expected a bigger jump on those tp's.

I wonder if there could be any tweaking to do Echostar 15, or if this is as good as it gets? There is some improvement for me, at least on most transponders, I was just hoping it would be more.

On 8/3 I was unable to receive enough signal strength on TP 30 to receive my RSN in HD. The Red Sox game was scheduled (yes it was in the guide); when going to that channel (434) the header would show (channel and program info) and then it immediately went to the acquiring sat signal screen, then it changed to the can't acquire sat signal please go up or down. I checked the signal strength and it was in the toilette. It was also clear and according to the weather map no storms or cloud cover anywhere close. I chalked it up to the new sat.
I had to go out of town for a day and when I came back the problem was still there and it is also happening on fox news HD TP27. Don't know if there are other HD's that are affected.
The other thing that is odd is when I turn "off" the receiver (722) and turn it back on the point screen screen comes up instead of the last channel viewed.
I am heading out and when I come back I will do a hard reboot and see if that makes any difference. However I want to get this out there inc ase anyone else is having the same problem.

I have a Hybrid 110/119/61.5 set up with a 722 and a 322

Thanks

Ross

Edit: Looks like the issue with the point screen coming up when I turn the 722 back on is gone, after hard reboot. However we are still not receiving enough signal on TP27 and TP 30 to receive programing. I will check others later. Everything comes up green on the check switch screen, however the system info screen showed 61.5 as amber, and the details indicated signal drift. I realize that affects quality but I don't know what to do about it and is it the sat or my dish? Or possibly both.....,since this happened at the same time the new sat was going live.

I am wondering the same thing. The other site is speculating that there may be something wrong going on

Eeeeek ! Did this ever reach the proper location? The last I saw it still needed a little correction but that was some time ago. I Can't imagine they would be switching content if there was anything wrong though.
I have been disappointed with the signal levels thus far but mine was one of the first ea set ups done up here, and I know it needs some tweaking, I was kinda waiting for E15

VIP 222 connected to a 1000.2 Dish (Yes, that's right, a 1000.2 re-skewed and optimized for 61.5 and 72 and no 77 sat) Signal seems much stronger than using 1000.4 aimed at 3 sats.

What does it mean when I get a lock on a transponder but it says "name not acquired"? I am wondering this because I used to not be able to get transponders 7 and 15, which for my area would be the Atlanta locals (I assume) I am in West Alabama and thought that I was too far out of the footprint, but now it looks like I can get pretty decent signal levels for those transponders. I may have to "move" from the Birmingham market to Atlanta for Peachtree TV and the Braves games.

I'm betting signals are low because the bird is not running at double or triple power yet. The transponders were not fully tested, so I don't thing there are quickly throwing the switch on all TWTAs.

It's probably a spotbeam that you aren't getting enough signal to lock on to.

If it doesn't say locked and have the name of the satellite consider it zero. It's switch and/or LNB bleed from the receiver searching extensively for the signal incase of LNB drift. Ignore it....

The funny thing is that it did not do this before E15 went into service. I get about 45-50 on transponder 15 and around 60 on transponder 7.
