Ok guys this is the info I pulled off my diagnostic screen entitled STB Health Live on my VIP222. Weather here is partly cloudy no snow. My Burlington Vt locals are on 61.5 Tr. 13 and my signal is only 36. I don't think it's dialed in right or a something else is bad up there on the roof. Sorry if the layout does'nt look right but hope you can read it ok.

I know I posted my sigs from the STB Health Live screen tonite. I mean even in very light snow sigs drop like rock like the alignment is off. The tech told me they align the EA dish using 72.7

If it isn't sticking heavily to the dish then there shouldn't be reception problems. That is making me think that you aren't getting a good signal level to start with. Are you seeing the levels go down when the clouds roll in?

61.5 is the only one that looks low.

We were upgraded to EA about three months ago and here in NW Mass we got a lot of snow this winter. Only lost reception twice that I recall due to snow. First time deep snow piled up on the roof and over the bottom of the dish and a thick crust of ice accumulated on the LNB. A trip up on the roof, trudging through waist deep snow to the peak of the roof and shovel around the dish and clear the ice and it is good to go. Second time was a few weeks ago and it was wet and heavy, not much accumulation, but wet and heavy and stuck to the dish and knocked it out. Another trip up to the dish and cleared it and it was good to go. Haven't had it long enough to test for rain fade though. Overall I think it is a bit more susceptible to snow fade, but I love the idea of one dish on the roof. Also we have had some pretty fierce winds this winter and wind has not affected our signal at all that I have noticed.

I had to jinx myself. Came home to about 4 inches of heavy wet snow and of course it is stuck to the dish. Dish recievers all reporting complete signal loss so up on the roof to clear the dish. Signal was back on before I could get back in the house. We don't seem to lose signal with the 1K4 unless there is heavy buildup of snow on the dish itself. Just snowing doesn't knock it out. I will admit that I don't generally check signal levels unless the signal is lost though. When I first had my mixed arc setup the 61.5 would go out if it got cloudy. A repeak took care of that. It was frustrating until they repeaked it so I understand what OP is going through.

Car wax on the dish could make it slicker so that snow doesn't stick as well.

I have NLOS for western arc at my house so I installed an eastern arc instead. I used the 500+ reflector and scew to convert it into a 1000.5 and I have yet to have signal dropouts even during storms. All signal is around 50 to high 60s on all 3 birds. When I tried to use the regular EA setup the signal was around 40 to high 50s. Thats why I used the 1000.5 instead.
