DVR510 Remote Problem

I just replaced my dead DVR510 receiver with another DVR510. The remote that came with the newer one is pretty worn and some pads don't work. Why doesn't my old remote work with the newer receiver? It worked perfectly with the old receiver before it died. I thought they were all the same and ready to go. Is there something I need to do?

Perhaps they are set to different channels. Look in our old 510 manual and set both to the same channel.

Try this...

Go into Menu hit 6-1-3

This will show you system info, at the bottom right you will see "remote address"

If it says Remote Address 2... then do this will the new remote

Hold down the "SAT" button until all lights light up, then type 02 #

Now try and use the new remote.

Remember to replace the number 2 with whatever number you have.
