I am very sorry if this is basic, but I have been researching and can not find the answer.

Just purchased DVR R15 dual tuner for Directv. I believe I can hook up to two tvs and watch two different channels at the same time but I can not figure out how to do it. I do have to cables come from the dish to the reciever and a cable running from main tv to another tv. I can get the same channel on both tvs but how do I change the channel in one room only.

I thank you in advance for you help regarding this.

Kristin

You can only watch one channel at a time (same channel in both rooms)

Thank you both for your replys. I called Directv and they said you can't do it without another reciever too. However, I have heard that it can be done. I know for sure you can do it with Dish's dual tuner reciever for sure. As they have two inputs and two outputs. It appears Directv (in their attempt to controll) has two inputs and one output but again I know there are always ways around this stuff and heard there was a way around it, but I don't know what it is.

Again, thank you though for your response.

Kristin - there is no way round this on a DirecTV receiver. You can only watch one program at a time - all the outputs from the box carry the same channel.
