DVR PVR 501 compatible remotes

Hi, I've recently pulled out a 501 that I couldn't find the remote for, and I'm trying to use a 8.0 UHF pro remote with it that came with a 811 hd receiver.


I can't get it to do anything, I've tried to set the "remote address" to the same thing on the sys info screen, and even tried diff ones. I've never had this problem before with remotes. I was wondering if someone with a little more knowledge about them could tell me if this remote will control a 501 somehow? ... or will I have to just get a new one??

oh yeah, i'm not sure if this remote has a key, its silver and says uhf pro but i didn't pull on it too hard, didnt want to break it off if it's not a key on this model.

The 8.0 remote is not compatable with the 501.

I think what you're looking for would be a 6.2 or 6.3 remote, with the black tab inserted.
