I have the TOS Season 1 on HD DVD... It rocks, maybe someday a provider will put these up...

Yes, I was surprised at how good those look (and the modernized special effects were well done - they are less cheesy, but don't look out of place - i.e. they are not too fancy).

Everything filmed in 35mm can look very nice. I just checked and TNG is 35mm so eventually we may see that as well, but I certainly agree that they should do TOS first...

Was not Toshiba involved as they were going to put out the HD DVD's?

I'm sure Paramount will make the switch to BD, since it's the "official" HD format now. Paramount was doing all the HD masters and redoing the exterior effects.

The only reason I can see for a delay in work on season two is because they wanted so much $$$ (way too much) for the HD DVD set of the first season...
