DVBS-100 found Intelsat Americas 5 but...

Hi, I am very new to FTA and Satellite reception. I bought a Kworld DVBS-100 PCI Card and am using a Directv Sony DSS Dish with what I believe to be a Universal LNB. This system had been set up for DirecTV. I have a signal strength of 100 picking up Intelsat Americas 5 at 97 degrees West and the DVBS software has seemed to find several FTA channels all at 11898 mhz but I have no picture or sound. Kworld's technical staff have not been very responsive after my initial email to them. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Is it something I don't have set correctly or is it the card? Thank you! Any ideas of things I can try to receive a satellite with the most FTA satellites here in Westerville, Ohio 43082?

You will need a KU LNBF if the dish/LNB has been used for DirecTV (KU satellites use a linear LNBF and DBS satellites (DirecTV Dishnetwork) use a circular polarized LNBF). A bigger dish is also going to be needed for the IA-5 satellite (30" min.).

Are there Echostar 6/7/8 FTA Channels available using Circular LNB?

First, THANK YOU so much for your quick response to me and for the list of satellite names and locations! This is a great site!

If I cheap out and don't buy the 30" dish (is 36" really better for FTA in USA?)
and linear LNBF, can I pick up FTA channels on 110 and 119 Echostar 6, 7 or 8 using my current circular DirectTV LNB and Sony DSS Directv 18" dish?

THere no free channel at those slots, and FTA DVB programming need minimum size dish or your signal will not be stable or no signal.

there are a few channels...mostly barker channels and a few audio channels
