I'd like to get a review on our new USB box http://www.dmsiusa.com/usb_box.htm

Think SatelliteGuys would let me give one away? Anybody interested in winning a free one? First box to have pure USB 2.0, supports the popular 3rd party software, AND it doesn't have the overheat problem commonly found with the competition.

WOW! I would LOVE to try one as I use a laptop all the time : )

VERY NICE!

I don't see a problem with another contest, we LOVE to give things away here at the FTA forum : )

Just out of curiousity do you by any chance know what the maximum symbol rate supported by your tuner is? Will it handle the bitrates necessary for HD? Also will it handle really high bitrates like 35-45MBits/sec? Is TSreader supported or is it likely to be supported in the future? If not perhaps you should send one to Rod hewitt.

Specs:

2-45Mbits/sec
Support DiSEqC1.1 1.2 2.0, 22KHz Tone, Tone Burst
Receiving frequency coverage : 950MHz to 2150MHz
Input level: -65dBm to -25dBm
Input structure: F type Female
Nominal input impedance: 75?
Channel selection system: PLL synthesizer(Clock 4.0MHz)
Step frequency: 500KHz
Roll-off Factor: 35% (root-raised consine)
FEC:
Inner decoder: Viterbi soft decoder,Constraint length M=7
Punctured codes 1/2,2/3,3/4,5/6,7/8
Outer decoder:Reed-solomon decoder,for 16parity bytes
Block lengths 204bytes or 188bytes

As for TSReader, that's really up to the author (Not that I use it).

Interesting............

And we have people here VERY capable of doing reviews! Is that right Cascade : )

Only MyTheatre 3.21 and up support USB Starbox

Only MyTheatre 3.21 and over support USB Starbox.Just prepare for restarting every hour(unregistered version) or buy it only $40.Forget about oryginal Twinhan software - it is useless for our "FTA".No remote control support from MyTheatre.Just a few thinks but can pissing you off.2 months experience and still nothing.

Do you need my address to send it to? Kidding aside, I think it would be great to give one of these away here, and also a Twinhan version! since this is a twinhan review thread :D

See http://www.dmsiusa.com/usb_box.htm for details on the tuner.

I have a lot of respect for Pete. He won't promote his "wares" here. He's a strong supporter of DMS and I really appreciate him. I hope you all do as well. He brings a wealth of experience to this forum and he's not afraid to share his knowledge. I think it would be great if you can give back to him by supporting his business.

I picked one up from a fellow member, but I definately look to PSB first for stuff now ;)
