Dum-De-Dum-Dum Question from Nooobie

I've been reading many posts in this forum and am having problems figuring out the competitive abbreviations. Is there a glossary of these anywhere? In particular can someone decode E* for me? How about another letter or two?LOL

D* is the abbreviation for DirecTV that is used. By the way, it took me awhile to figure out which was which!

HDD=Hard Disk Drive
DTV=Digital TeleVision
