Good Morning all.

I'm a regular lurker here & want to upgrade to a DTv HD DVR, but can't find the answer to this question.

My old owned HD receiver (Hughes) was able to get OTA HD & the regular air channels (non-HD) i.e. channel 3 standard & channel 3.1 digital. My current DTV HD box (1 year old) can't show both channels - just has digital HD (3.1, etc)

Will the new HD DVR from Dtv be able to receive BOTH OTA signals? Reason is..... I may want to watch a HD OTA channel & record another standard channel at the same time. Or is there another way to accomplish this task? I don't subscribe to network channels through DTV...too costly - I put up an antenna.

My LG receiver on another tv is able to receive digital HD & standard, so if the digital goes down, I can still see broadcast channels. Don't need DTv on that set, so just have the owned receiver.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

New HD receivers DISH or Directv only have ATSC tuners built in NTSC is going away so money isn't being spent on tuners that won't be used shortly. Your TV probably has a NTSC tuner built in so tune the SD channel on the TV set and record the ATSC broadcast.
