Is the DSR-905 sidecar susceptible to the same sort of battery issues as the 920 or 922? Reason I ask is because I can probably get one a lot cheaper than a 922 (or working 920) and I have more than enough old analog equipment to move the dish etc. All I want is to sub. to the Scripps mini pkg. for DIY, Food network etc. :hungry:
So are there any known issues with these units or would I be fairly safe to look for one on e-bay or somewhere similar?

I have a 905 and love it...basically its like a 922 minus analog options and its really easy to add that option. The 905 has inputs and outputs for satellite and wiring so it just goes right in line of the analog box if you so desire to go that way

Mine is slaved for both C & KU

Sweet, for the most part I won't be needing analog but I will have that option. The 920 I picked up off Fleabay doesn't seem to be any good (battery died etc.) although it would be fine for analog if desired. I'm thinking of using one of my simple positioners like a Uniden UST-710 just to move the dish if desired but it'll be sitting mostly on one satellite anyway. Also have a UST-6000 which is a dead simple analog receiver with knobs for skew and audio, good for feed hunting and both units have very simple remotes.

So do you know if the 905 has a battery to worry about like the 920? Or do they just work?
