Maybe he was on vacation, but his last post was on Mar 20, not too long after the deleted thread issue, and up until a couple days ago when I had last checked, his last activity had been 3/20 as well.

Not a good sign from Dish, and perhaps a purely personal matter now.

In any event, I think I'd prefer a refurb ViP211K to a new ViP211z

How many TV's will you have hooked up to Dish? A 2 Hopper system would solve your delema. The ehd from your 722 will work on a Hopper and can be moved from one to another. The ehd is keyed to the account, not the receiver.
