Don't raise your rates, raise my fees!

Again, they are guesses, so we need to stop saying "Dish lost 314k subscribers". It's a very important distinction. I don't see everyone being so voiceful when they added subs. Everyone has something to say, and yet most of it is opinion presented as fact. If you're going to post facts, then Dish lost 143 subs as a company. No more, no less. Their financials confirm that.

I don't care as long as they lost subscribers.

Chad you can dispute the number of loses (318,000 )all you want and defend DISH till the cows come home ,it does Not change the fact that DISH satellite subs are dropping in large numbers each quarter. With the Sling tv numbers added in to the sat sub losses, it mutes some of the impact of the losses but it doesn't change the fact that DISH is hemorrhaging subs at a terrific rate.

This is not something that is unique to Dish. Every provider posted significant subscriber losses in Qtr 1. Hell, Charter (Spectrum) just bought Time Warner last year and they still lost 100K!

It's just the nature of the industry now. It will find a leveling point eventually while people explore the various streaming options or jump from provider to provider.

A few weeks back prior to DISH and Hearst media settling their differences I got a survey from DISH asking how well they are doing. They got a 3. I checked the box to not contact me. They did anyway... 2 year price lock and $15 off monthly charges. Just sign a two year agreement.. Well I wrote back to little to late. How many more long programming outages could I expect in those two years.. I have the protection plan. I know its a waste since I own my own equipment etc. etc.. Well I see my fee is going up to $8.99 from $8. When the latest costs were presented along with "enhanced protection plans" earlier this year the basic plan was still there as an option. As of the other day its gone. I'm being rolled over to the Silver plan... Oooh ahh.... I know 99 cents is nothing but its systemic of this bottomless pits of fees. I have AEP and one HWS. Thats it. $185.14 per month with taxes. Lose the protection plan and its a paltry $175+. Time's running out for DISH and me.

Nothing on tv worth $2100.00 a year

Yet thousands of people seem to pay amounts like that. Some must disagree or just don't care. Just imagine all the other crap in our lives we spend just as much on. Some people spend that on products that are slowly killing themselves like cigarettes.

Yes, but each of those subs was paying Dish enough money to count as 1000 subs. ;)

To which you and everybody else is entitled. :)
Everyone is entitled to my opinion. ;)
