Does the VIP 622 downconvert to 480i?

If I were hook up a non-HDtv with the coaxial cable to my 622, would I be able to watch my DVR HD movies (by way of down conversion), or would I only be able to watch 480i recordings? Also, would I only be able to watch standard def channels?

Everything is downsampled to 480i on all outputs but the HD ones: HDMI and component.

Yup it will work fine for you in that situation.

Even the hd outputs can be set to 480i in the menu.
