Just wondering if a strong signal means a good picture. Considering the switch to dish 1000 & from what I have read, the signal strength will be less than I now have with dish 500. Will this mean that my picture will not be as good?

No, the signal is digital, either you get it or you don't. The signal strength will mostly affect the reliability of the signal. The stronger the signal the less likely you are to be affected by dropouts caused by bad weather. As long as the signal stays locked you won't notice any difference in picture quality.

How many DVR fees to pay for two DVR receivers?
