I was doing some upgrade rewiring today and decided to connect the VIP 622 to my switch / router to get ready for this feature. In the menus I saw the DHCP update selection and I got the VIP to connect and obtain an IP from my router as well as get the ip addresses for the internet. Then I went to the Dish Online and it gave me a disclaimer I had to select "I agree". As soon as I did this, the VIP locked up and in about 5 minutes rebooted itself. This was repeated several times. I checked off the "Don't display this agreement again and now when I select Dish Online, the VIP 622 just locks up and eventually reboots. Don't know what else to do so I post here to see who is using this.

I was able to access DishOnline through my VIP722 and browse through some of the offerings. But as soon as I tried to leave DishOnline and go into the menu, the receiver froze. I had to do a manual reboot of it.

Mine locked up and rebooted just as you described the first few times I tried it. It eventually started behaving.

I discovered at dbstalks a member there reported the same problem Saturday and called support. They claimed it was down temporarily. About 10 PM last evening I found it up and working fine. It appears to be fine and I had no issues surfing around the entire DishOnline. All the movies appear to be PPV so I didn't bother buying any.

My real concern was to test the ethernet connection with the 622 which appears to work flawlessly, getting the IP's without trouble. I just installed a Home theater switch for connections:
1. Sling Box
2. HD DVD Player
3. BluRay Player
4. VIP 622
5. For future device

Interestingly neither the HD DVD player nor the BluRay Player get an IP from the router. So far only the VIP622 works and the Sling Box.

Are you reading that Dish ? I was at the in-laws a few days ago with Time Warner cable and one of the 1st things I did was go to the "On Demand" section and watched (2) FREE programs (from NatGeo channel).

You likely have to tell them you have a network connection, otherwise they assume you don't and don't load any network-related software.

My DishOnline has locked up my 622 ever since firmware L4.48 downloaded. I tried it again last night, and down it went. It worked with L4.47, but I'll never try it again, considering it takes the receiver like 10 minutes to reboot.

Are the $20 sat signal meters worth the money?
