Do you have to use a Power Inserter on a Dish Pro Plus 44 switch

I though if you were using one of the newer Dish pro recievers like a 522 you did not need the power inserted as the receiver had it built in.

Yet I see the specs in the DPP 44 and it has a separate power inserter. Do they include that in case you only have older receivers?

Is it required on say a 522, 942, and 4900 setup?

Ive tried it without the power inserter and you get absolutely no signal.

Yes you get the power inserter with the DPP44, if you get the whole kit for the DPP44 or you can get just the switch if you need to replace it, but to operate the DPP44 it does need a power inserter for it to work even with the 522, 942 and a 4900 receivers

Anyone know where I can get a Power Inserter and power supply real cheap?

Got a used DPP 44 but no Inserter. Oh well, it was free.

You SHOULD be able to use a power inserter from an SW44/SW64 since I believe it has the same voltage. E* claimed that they needed insertion for 4 or more sats, but then they included coding that allows a DP34 to work in conjuntion with a DP21, so............
