I want to subscribe to the new stand alone HD pack on 2/1/08, and I want to be prepared for when it is available.

I live in the San Francisco DMA, and I have three dishes on my roof, and an OTA setup. I have dishes pointed at 61.5, 110, 119, and 148.

Is that still good enough to receive all of the HD channels, or am I going to need to point one of those at the 129 orbital slot?

I looked on the Dish website, and it doesn't even mention 129 on my customer service page for some reason, yet, I remember that being where they were going to move the voom channels to.

The other question I have is if I should do it myself or let dish do it. Does anyone recall what it costs to repoint a dish on the roof? I can't find that info. I did a search on this forum, and I looked on the dish website.

Thanks!

You don't need 129 for HD. All the HD on 129 is on 61.5. You're ready to go!

For now, at least, since the HD RSNs aren't offered in this package.

Lucky for you and SF that the HD LiL is on a 119 spotbeam, like the OKC HD LiL. That could change when the new 129 satellite goes up later this year.

I'm happy to hear that 61.5 mirrors 129 for the time being. I won't do anything then, and hopefully when it comes time to switch, dish will repoint the dish for free!
