What are you Watching?

I bought the remastered B5 through Apple when it came out. While it is an improvement over the disk versions I was still a bit underwhelmed with the picture quality. I have gotten spoiled by what is available now.

I'm currently watching on Amazon Prime and while there are artifacts, between the filtering and my TV, it looks pretty good.

Disney+ added some Hulu+ and ESPN+ content to their service. I saw that "Shōgun" had been placed in the accessible category so I started watching it. Mother Foxbat had let me read the original novel published in the 1970s and I watched the original mini-series with Richard Chamberlain. The new Hulu series is influenced by "Game of Thrones" and its ilk as it’s a lot bloodier and heavy on the swears, but this is Hulu, not NBC like the original mini-series. It took some time to warm up to the actors chosen to portray Blackthorn, Makido, and Toranaga.

The cinematography is excellent, I haven’t made it far enough in to see the major battles, but the escape from Osaka was done well.

I still have 3-4 episodes left to go. But I’m glad I got a chance to see this adaptation.

My GF and I just started a new Binge-venture; Saturday Night Live!
We're 3 shows into Season 1.
SO different than hope it is today. Ep 2 was mostly a Paul Simon concert with Art Garfunkle playing for 3 songs and the muppets??? I was 11 when this season aired

I was in my senior year of college, and loved it! Will never forget Paul Simon in a chicken suit, and when Lorne Michaels offered the Beatles $500 to get back together and play on the show. And Andy Kaufman and the Mighty Mouse theme.

Andy has been on every episode so far (1-4).
