Do I need to download the software to my brand new Pansat

Hello everybody
I am a virgin to FTA, and got my brand new Pansat 2500A today
Do I have to download the software to the receiver from PansatUSA and why
I also got SG2100 motor, can I use any southern Satellite or it has to be true south one as reference

Hello and welcome to Satelliteguys.US There is no need to download anything onto your new receiver it should come with the latest software already loaded, the only time you would have to update the software is when there are some improvements made to the software, you can check with the companies web site periodically and compare the software version with yours.

Its best to set up the motor to your true south satellite, it will be in the same orbital position in space as your longitude, hope the install goes smoothly if not give us a shout here! Good Luck!

your unit will work out of the box for legal FTA stuff I have a Pansat 1500 and haven't had to download any software.

to use the motor, you need to use your southern satellite (or the closest one) or the motor won't work right
