Do I need a BBC for a HR20-100s Receiver?

Please help trying to set up my HR20-100s receiver with a slimline 5 SWM dish and having difficulties. Do I need to install a BBC?

Yes, every HD receiver has to have the BBC, except for the 23 series, unless it is a SWM installation.

You need two of them, one for each tuner. Call Directv and they will send them to you at no charge.


edit: Drat! I missed the SWM part of the first post. No BBC required.

If he indeed does have the Slimline 5 SWM dish (only has one output), then the answer is no, as the HR20-100 is SWM capable.

Same with the HR22, which the OP also has and needs help with.

You are correct. I missed the SWM part. So no BBC's are needed. You will need the power inserter, and a SWM splitter.

I hate to piggyback on this question but....

My buddy just gave me his old dish and mount setup. The LNB says Eagle Aspen DTVSDLNB Rev1. His receivers required BBC. I have an HR22-100 and H21-200 receiver. Do I also need to use a BBC in this installation?
