I know a friend that is getting HD and the installer told him that he will need two dishes to receive what he has ordered. He already has a super dish.

He is subscribing to all the HD services plus local channels. He lives in South Alabama.

He is suppose to get a 622 receiver.

Will he need an additional dish other than the super dish to receive his programming?

I am not sure based on your location, but I experienced the same issue. In order to receive HD programming, I think you need to have a dish pointing to the HD signals. Local signals are completely different and I was told I needed two dishes if I wanted locals, etc.

Fortunately for me, I have a Dish 1000 and opted for an OTA to receive locals, thus only one dish. If I wanted to get locals, I would need a super dish.

Dish just gave me a sweet deal.....
