Do I have this right?

Hi folks,

I've done a bunch of research, and I just want to run this past the experts here.

Currently, I have the Top 100 package, with locals and HD. I have a Superdish pointed at 110, 119, and 121, and a second dish pointed at 61.5.

I would like to change to the Top 100+ package to get regional sports, plus my HD RSN. The Echostar Knowledgebase says Fox Sports Midwest HD is on 129.

I would also like to add the Chinese Great Wall package, which the Knowledgebase now says is only on 118 and 121.

So I reckon I need a new dish. I figure Dish will do one of two things:

1. Move me to a one-dish solution, replacing my Superdish with a 1000+ so I can get 110, 118, 119, and 129. Or,

2. Replace the Superdish with a 500+ to see 110, 118, and 119, and then repoint the other dish to 129.

I've read some feedback here that 129 has problems, and that a dedicated dish pointed at 129 might be a better setup.

So, what do you think? Do I have this right? If they give me this option, which should I do?

Oh, and one more question: Do you think Dish do this work for free, since I'm adding programming?

Thanks,

James

Sounds like you need a 1000+. That will do what you need. Will they do it for free? Who knows. I doubt it. Most likely it will cost you 50 bucks and an 18 month commitment. Maybe not though. Best bet is to call the number on your bill, and tell them the programming changes you want to make. They should be able to tell you what you need as far as equipment, and how much, if anything, it will cost.

I don't know for sure, but I think it is very likely that Interational Packages include free dish and installation for the special satellite slots for that package.

I would go with the 1000+ because your 61.5 dish is going to be too small for 129 !

Which is better to pick up 110, 119 and 129? 1000.2 or 1000+ ?

Dish1000 and Super Dish install
